Dance, music and theatre without borders and firmly in touch with today’s youth: this is XPATS! Exchanging Playgrounds Around the Sea is a project founded by the Dutch theatre promoters Arjen Barel and Yassine Boussaid in 2010. Their international exchange programme for urban performing arts offers socially disadvantaged young amateurs the opportunity of working with pros who help them discover their own artistic style. The breakdance and hip hop star Lloyd Marengo is compiling elements from recent productions in Den Haag, Tel Aviv and Zurich into one explosive show, which will be premiered at the Theater Spektakel. Regardless of what the weather may be like, the XPATS crews will bring the lakeside stage to boiling point! (kdi)
