Mega Park

Reif für die Insel?

For this year’s site-specific installation, nine scenographic design students from Zurich University of the Arts took a trip to Mallorca. The object of their research on this popular holiday island was to explore the phenomenon of «foreign infiltration» which manifests itself in architecture, language and esthetics as well as in popular rituals and leisure facilities. They assembled their impressions to form a multi-part installation. «Mega Park» outlines the connection between two places, which in various ways live off foreign cultures: Mallorca as a destination for mass tourism and the Landiwiese as a venue for an international cultural festival.
