Glaser/Kunz
Performance
The cinematographic sculpture by artists Daniel Glaser and Magdalena Kunz is an at times puzzling but always fascinating interplay of various genres and artistic resources. «Performance» lies somewhere between the visual and performing arts, between live experience and sculpture. Five actors wearing monkey costumes rehearse a play. Social injustice, ecological disasters, political banter — this wild bunch tackles it all. We watch the troupe developing their play and witness their disputes over certain script passages. But what is real and what is virtual? What is live and what is looped? Glaser/Kunz lure us into a sophisticated multidimensional world, playing with perception and illusion and turning fiction into reality. (esc)
